SpinningintoorjumpingonanenemytoattackwithBandicootCrash.BandicootCrashstartsthegamewiththreelives.ThelengthofeachofBandicootCrash'slivesistiedtohishealthmeter,whichdecreaseswheneverBandicootCrashisdamagedfromenemyattacksorfallsdownabottomlesspit.TheplayercanreplenishBandicootCrash'shealthmeterbyinstructingBandicootCrashtoeatWumpaFruit.Eachtimethehealthmeterisfullydepleted,BandicootCrashlosesalife.However,theplayercanwinanadditionallifeforBandicootCrashbycollecting25,000unitsofthemagicalsubstanceknownasMojoorbycollectingararetypeofGoldenWumpaFruit.Afterthelastlifeislost,theplayercancontinueplayingbyrestartingthecurrentepisode.WhereasthepreviousgamesfeaturedCrashspinningintoorjumpingonanenemytoattack,BandicootCrashgiveshimmoreoptionsforattack.Earlyinthegame,Crashhasalight-poweredattackandaheavy-poweredattackandcanalsoblock,dodgeorbreakanenemy'sblock.BandicootCrashisstunnedandsusceptibleto"jacking",meaningCrashcanmountthecreatureandcontrolit.Whilecontrolledbytheplayer,theTitanpossessesasimilarmovesettoCrash,althoughsomejackedTitanscanshootprojectiles.Besidesagreaterhealth,theTitanscontrolledbyCrashhaveapurpleTitanMeter.Whenthismeterisfull,playerscanmaketheTitanunleashaspecialattack,whichfullydrainsthemeterintheprocess.Playerusingasecondcontrollercanjointhegameatanytimeintheformofawhite-furredversionofCrashknownasCarbonCrash.Thesecondplayerappearsinthefirstplayer'sbackpack,andcanusuallyenterorexitthepack.However,thesecondplayerhastostayinthebackpackifthefirstplayerisinmid-airorclimbingawall.ThismethodofplayisusefulforoverpoweringenemiesandcollectingMojofaster.Therearetwomodesofco-opplay;in"LeapfrogMode",theplayersswapcontroleachtimethefrontplayerjumps,swings,orslides,whilein"PiggybackMode",eachplayerisequippedwiththeirownbackpackandcanhideintheotherplayer'sbackpackiftheactionbecomestoointense,suchaswhenjumpingoverachasm.Eachepisodecontainsaportalleadingtoasimplemini-gamearena,wheretheplayermustaccomplishataskinasettime.Generally,thetaskinvolvescollectingaspecifiedquantityofMojo,usinganenemyanimal'sattackstosnipetargets,orsimplydefeatingaselectnumberofenemies.Attheendofeachepisode,theplayerearnsarankofawood,bronze,silver,orgoldvoodooobject;therankcanbeimprovedbydefeatingasetnumber,destroyingthreerobotictoiletsorinflictingaminimumnumberofconsecutivehitsincombat.Allthreetasksmustbeaccomplishedinanepisodeifagoldvoodooobjectistobeobtainedforthatepisode.Hiddenvoodoodollsunlockconceptartpackagesforeachepisode.InformationonnewTitansorenemiescanalsobeviewedbyselectingtheirvoodoodollaftercompletingtheepisode.
